RYTHM IS PROUD TO SUPPORT PRIDE MONTH!
Activists within the LGBTQ community were instrumental in paving the road to legal medical cannabis.
Throughout the 1990s, they fought for the HIV/AIDS community’s right to wellness – and with their perseverance, the future of legal medical cannabis was forever changed with the passing of the Compassionate Care Act of 1996 (aka, Prop 215).
It is, in part, due to these LGBTQ pioneers – people like Harvey Milk, Dennis Peron, and Gilbert Baker, among countless others – that RYTHM’s vibrant medical cannabis community can, and does, exist today.
Throughout the month of June, RYTHM will remember the path to Prop 215, celebrating a few of these heroes and their remarkable stories. For a limited time, and while supplies last, our rainbow RYTHM Pride Pens will also be available for purchase to registered medical cannabis patients in select markets.
A portion of the proceeds from our RYTHM Pride Pens will directly benefit the GLBT Historical Society, an organization dedicated to supporting and promoting an understanding of LGBTQ history, culture, and arts in all their diversity.
RYTHM honors the LGBTQ community’s influence on legal medical cannabis and supports the tremendous efforts of the GLBT Historical Society to ensure that these stories and stories like these are commemorated today and for years to come.
Founded in 1985, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) Historical Society is recognized internationally as a leader in the field of LGBTQ public history. The GLBT Historical Society collects, preserves, exhibits and makes accessible to the public materials and knowledge to support and promote understanding of LGBTQ history, culture and arts in all their diversity.
